As a successful general contractor and entrepreneur since 1985, I have worked with clients in nearly all of the neighborhoods of San Francisco and many other communities around the Bay Area, California, and the country. I see the potential of properties, projects, and the bones of a building with a well-developed artistic, creative, and practical vision.

Dealing with contractors can be a challenge as there is a high percentage of non ethical general contractors out there. So if you have the opportunity to put a knowledgable inter mediator between you and a general contractor, it is worth the money, time, and effort. John is my choice, hands down, for that inter mediator. He has the knowledge, professionalism, experience, and personality. He talks the talk and walks the walk.

I am 3rd generation owner/operator of a 1905 Legacy San Francisco apt bldg. John demonstrated daily his background in construction, project management, contracts, familiarity with the SF Building Dept, and life in general. During our last project we worked together to choose different contractors to vet. During the vetting process, a few contractors saw possible hidden situations. John dug into these and saw no problems, consequently having them rebid the job and providing me with a significant cost savings.

Between outside stress and other issues with the property I was happy to have John on board. The seismic work job was successful and stayed on schedule. If I had done this myself I might have relied on the contractor, which is like having ” the fox watching the hen house”. It’s easy to miss or ignore the opportunity for the wisdom of a property consultant. It was a valuable expenditure and a positive experience. If there are any projects in San Fransisco in my future, John will be front and center guiding me again.

John has been an enormous help to me as my property consultant when looking for a house to buy, or even smaller items like windows needing to be replaced in an old home. There are many choices, and often people selling these things aren’t able to take time to educate about what will be most practical, durable and cost effective for my unique situation and more importantly why. John listens well and responds with clear explanations regarding how things are built and what will best serve the situation. His translation helps me understand the why behind the what— be it a house just purchased needing new electrical work or types of new window replacements for 100 year old windows. John is well informed and has years of a variety of property project experience. He is honest and educated. I would happily hire him again.

When I bought my house I did not know the various problems I would face in time living in it — among them soil drainage, mold under the house, electrical wiring and gas leaks. I had an overload of information from friends and separate professional people about how to remedy the situation but I could not see the way forward.
